Victoria Group as the Largest Meal Exporter
The “Serbia Grains” association, in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UN FAO) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), organized “Seed Day” on May 16, as part of the 85th International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad. At this traditional event, awards were presented to the companies that have achieved the best results in the trade of grains and oilseeds.
Victoria Group was awarded for its achievements in the export of meal, and the award was given to Mladen Jovanović, Director of Victoria Logistic, a member of this business system. At the same time, Victoria Group is the largest producer of meal, offering soybean, sunflower and rapeseed meal.
The event was opened by Branislav Nedimović, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management. On this occasion, he stressed that the country recognizes and supports the achievements of seed farmers, and that it will work towards improving the infrastructure and water transport, which is nine times cheaper compared to road transport.
Director of the “Serbia Grains” association, Saković Vukosav, presented the results of production, trade and export of Serbian grains and oilseeds that were achieved last year. He emphasized the importance of the cooperation with the UN FAO and EBRD over the past two years, the aim of which is to improve the market environment in order to achieve even better export results.
Aside from Victoria Group, awards for the results achieved in 2017 went to the following companies: Žitozaštita, Konzul, Uljarice Bačka, RWA Srbija and Žito Bačka, while the Charter for the Grain Exporter of the Year was presented to MK Commerce.
